The rise of ethical consumerism

According to the new monthly Concerned Consumer Index by Populus, there are increasing numbers of consumers who take social, environmental and ethical issues into account when making purchasing decisions. Nearly three in five people say they actively avoid purchasing from certain companies because of questions they have about their social, environmental or ethical track record. The index reveals how people’s values and how they choose to express them are changing; they are increasingly making decisions based on values as well as value.
